A Night To Remember

ahafner@alabamakeyclub.org

Divisions 4, 5 and 6 gathered at the Pelham Civic Complex for our Spring Rally.  This Rally was a night that would not soon be forgotten!  After the rally was over, we were able to ice skate together!  Shown in the photo are the Key Clubbers from Crossroads Christian School along with Lt. Governor  of Division 4, Alicia  Hafner, and District Governor Kyle Pierce.

January Division Council Meeting

ahafner@alabamakeyclub.org

On January 19th, Division Four of the Great Alabama District of Key Club held its’ January Division Council Meeting. Fourteen officers from Pinson Valley High, Shades Valley High, Springville High, Pell City High, and Crossroads Christian School Key Clubs were present, not including myself.  We enjoyed delicious coffee and ice cream and discussed District Convention, made plans for the Spring Rally, and updated each other about home clubs.  I am really thankful to have such a wonderful and active group of friends!

Sincerely in Service,
Alicia Hafner

A Lifeline of Service

abrewer

Erik Gentry SFHSDivision 18 Key Clubs celebrated October and November with blood drives! Beginning with Baldwin County High School the week of Halloween and ending with Fairhope’s pre-Thanksgiving drive this division truly lead an initiative of service. Entire student bodies came together! It was not only the perfect way to get out of class with a snack to follow, but it also served as a great way for Key Clubbers, and non-Key Clubbers, to serve their entire community.

For students that participated in LifeSouth blood drives, a chance to win a brand new iPod Nano was a huge incentive. At Spanish Fort, students got a chance to place their name in the drawing after giving their donation. The winner’s name was drawn on the morning announcements, exactly one week after the drive. Needless to say, the winner was very excited to have signed up for the blood drive. After all, an iPod is a great trade for saving the greater good!

Here Spanish Fort High School Key Clubber, Erik Gentry donates to the 107 pints of blood collected. Along with Spanish Fort, Fairhope High School and Daphne High School held LifeSouth Blood Drives; Fairhope raised 74 pints, while Daphne raised 100. Baldwin County High School held their drive with the American Red Cross and they were able to collect a 100 pint donation.

Overall, these drives brought success to the Eastern Shore of Alabama. It gave Key Club the perfect chance to spread service; and to give other students, faculty, and community members a chance to show that they have made their mark on this world through service.
